Privacy Policy

Ishigaki Distillery Co., Ltd. (“the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) establishes the following policy regarding the handling of personal information of customers (“you” or “your”) in the services we provide (“the Service”).

Article 1 (Definition of Personal Information)

In this policy, “Personal Information” refers to personal information as defined by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan (Act No. 57 of 2003, hereinafter referred to as the “APPI”). This includes information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, or other descriptions contained in such information, as well as data related to appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and information that can identify a specific individual from the information itself, such as the insurer number on a health insurance card (personally identifiable information).

Article 2 (Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information)

The Company collects and uses Personal Information for the following purposes:

To provide and operate the Service.
To respond to inquiries from customers (including identity verification).
To send emails regarding new features, updates, campaigns, and other services offered by the Company.
To contact you as necessary for maintenance, important notices, and other communications.
To identify and refuse service to users who have violated the terms of use or who intend to use the service for fraudulent or unjust purposes.
To allow you to view, modify, delete your registered information, and view your usage status.
For purposes incidental to the above purposes of use.

Article 3 (Changes to the Purpose of Use)

The Company shall change the purpose of use of Personal Information only when it is reasonably deemed that the new purpose of use is relevant to the purpose before the change.
If the purpose of use is changed, the Company shall notify you of the changed purpose by a method prescribed by the Company or announce it on this website.

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

The Company will not provide Personal Information to a third party without the prior consent of the user, except in the following cases. However, this excludes cases permitted under the APPI and other laws and regulations.

  • When it is necessary for the protection of a person’s life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the person’s consent.
  • When it is particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the person’s consent.
  • When it is necessary to cooperate with a state organ, a local government, or an individual or entity entrusted by either of the foregoing in executing affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the person’s consent is likely to impede the execution of the said affairs.

Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the recipient of the information shall not be deemed a third party in the following cases:

  • When the Company entrusts the handling of Personal Information in whole or in part within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use.
  • When Personal Information is provided as a result of the succession of business in a merger or otherwise.

Article 5 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

When requested by the individual to disclose their Personal Information, the Company will disclose it to the individual without delay. However, if disclosure falls under any of the following, we may not disclose all or part of the information, and if we decide not to disclose it, we will notify you to that effect without delay.

  • When there is a risk of harming the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the individual or a third party.
  • When there is a risk of causing significant hindrance to the proper execution of our business.
  • When it would violate other laws and regulations.

Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, information other than Personal Information, such as access history and characteristic information, will not be disclosed in principle.

Article 6 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

If the Personal Information held by the Company is incorrect, you may request the Company to correct, add, or delete your Personal Information (“Correction, etc.”) in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the Company. If the Company determines that it is necessary to respond to the request from you as set forth in the preceding paragraph, the Company shall make the Correction, etc. to the said Personal Information without delay. The Company will notify you without delay when it has made a Correction, etc. based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or when it has decided not to make a Correction, etc.

Article 7 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information)

If an individual requests the suspension of use or deletion of their Personal Information (“Suspension of Use, etc.”) on the grounds that the information is being handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use or that it was obtained by fraudulent means, the Company will conduct the necessary investigation without delay. Based on the results of the investigation in the preceding paragraph, if it is determined that it is necessary to respond to the request, the Company will perform the Suspension of Use, etc. of the said Personal Information without delay. The Company will notify you without delay when it has performed the Suspension of Use, etc. based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or when it has decided not to perform the Suspension of Use, etc.

Article 8 (About Cookies)
